Leadership and the Church
March 8 | Parkade Baptist Church | Columbia, MO
Our speakers will bring relevant and up-to-date information on three key issues facing churches today: Security, Safety, and Stability.
Security: Churches have historically been a sanctuary from world-weariness and certainly a refuge from violence. But no more. Vaughn Baker, President of Strategos International, will provide biblical and ethical training that equips churches to protect their congregations without compromising their mission.
Safety: Financial safeguards are one of the most critical, yet often overlooked, components of a healthy ministry. In 2017 alone, it was estimated that over 60 Billion dollars of worldwide church funds were lost to financial fraud. This number is expected to grow 6% each year. Dr. Glenn Miller, CEO of Miller Management, is a Certified Fraud Examiner and recently completed his Doctorate of Ministry Education. His dissertation was on Reducing Fraud in Ministry. Glenn will provide practical and attainable steps to help churches safeguard both the church’s finances and the people in the church who work with the finances.
Stability: Churches of every size are encountering difficulty in funding their mission. There seems to always be more need than financial resources. Recent trends show us that church giving is going down and may continue that way for the foreseeable future. Churches need to think and plan creatively with their finances to ensure they continue in their mission. Dr. Neil Franks, President of the Missouri Baptist Foundation, will speak on how the church can develop new financial strategies to help create long term stability.
